Radiator surface areas

I'm trying to figure out a couple things for my custom water cooling build. I'm not going to be using a radiator, but I am going to be using/building a heat exchanger, and I was trying to compare the surface area of the heat exchanger to the surface area of a radiator(since a radiator is just a type of heat exchanger) so I can get an idea of how much surface area I really need.

Obviously the fins on the radiators affect the total heat exchanger surface area..but I can't find any specifications or literature on how much total(or even theoretical) surface area a radiator has.

Anyone have a link to a site, or any ideas how to get a halfway-accurate spec on the average surface area of say, a 120mmx360mm radiator?

There are too many factors to accurately know the end result, that not only affect actual surface area size but temperatures used in the proposed heat exchange as well.

You're really not supplying enough information as most rad suppliers do not reveal the actual lengths of tubing used in their rad construction that could be calculated for the total mass surface area as there are a lot of contributing factors.

Can I ask you what you're actually planning?
