Audio jack (front and back) problems... Completely lost

Hi, I have a problem with the audio on my motherboard. It doesn't work at all. I bought a build from some guy a while ago, and the audio jacks never worked --- I was forced to use USB speakers, which did work.

Now to present time I am using the same mobo in a build for my Parents, and the audio still doesn't work.

I have up to date drivers.
I have tried all the jacks / multiple audio devices.

Windows thinks its outputting sound (i.e., playback device is showing sound output bars).

When I plug an audio device into the front OR back panel, it puts out very low constant static. The computer is trying to connect to the audio device, I think, but the jack connection seems unstable --- it says "connected" "device uplugged" "connected" "Device unplugged" every millisecond.

The front jack is connected via HD Audio to the mobo. The rear jack is just... coming out of the motherboard itself.

Yet both have the same problem.

Any ideas?

(Sorry, specifics probably help, lol):

Mobo: MSI A55m-p35
CPU: AMD A8-3850
Drivers: realtek audio

Quickest fix would be to install a PCI sound card and plug speakers into that after installing the supplied drivers.

You will have to disable the integrated sound adapter to avoid a resource conflict.
If it's not possible to disable it in BIOS Setup, you can disable it in Windows Device Manager, then restart Windows.
