Best graphic card on a budget

With a budget of about 280 usd, what is the best graphic card i can consider? a nvidia or ati? I already have a gtx 650, so I am looking for something much better than that Thanks !

For 280 usd, the best you can get right now is the Nvidia Geforce GTX 760. Here's the model that I'd recommend you http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00DBPKEOI/?tag=pcpapi-20.
But for 330 usd, which is not too too far from your budget, you could step up and get the Nvidia Geforce GTX 770, which is about 25% faster. Now it's all about how much you want to spend.

Well the GTX 760 that I did suggest was actually 240 usd. There's just not much that's really interesting between the 760 and the 770, and AMD is pretty much out, at this price point. They got some great deals, on some other price points, but just not there. Last summer they had great deals on the 7950s, but now it's all gone, so your only good choices are on Nvidia, really.

Thats an R9-270x...
If you can spend like 25 more i would get a 2gb GTX 770...
