Need help! Graphic Card not detected on Asus Z87 pro

Hello everyone,

I have recently put together a gaming rig, after the mobo on my dell laptop burnt due to rigorous OC. The details of the rig are as follow :-

Intel i7 4770k
Asus Z87 pro mobo
Zotac Nvidia GTX 760 Amp
Corsair carbide 400R chassis
Corsair VS 650 W SMPS
Corsair Vengeance 4gb X2

Now, after the assembly, and first boot, everything was fine and I entered the boot mode and installed windows 8. Now the problem started when i looked for display adapters. MY NVIDIA GTX 760 wasn't there. Only the default INTEL HD4000 onboard display. I openend up the panel to check if the card was properly seated and to my surprise the FANS are running. The two 6pin connector for PCI-e is also settled in well and the card is on dedicated PCI-e V3.0 express slot. Now i tried connecting the monitor to DVI-out from the GFX card and the moniotr goes blank. No response. I connect the same on Mobo output and everything works fine.

Any insight as to what the problem might be? i guess 650 W of power is more than sufficient to power this rig so i dont think it is a PSU issue.

Oh and yeah, i also tried setting the Primary display to PCI-E in the UEFI BIOS but still no response.

Please help

I tried installing the driver but the installation wizard keeps saying that the Hardware not not found.
The graphic card is not detected and so does not show up in the display adapater of device manager. :(

Have you tried updating your mobo BIOS?

some mother boards need an update to work with the latest Nvidia cards

Go here to download CPU-Z:

http://www.cpuid.com/downloads/cpu-z/1.68-setup-en.exe

>Go to Mainboard and under BIOS will be your version.
>check the number

Go here:
http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/Z87PRO/#support

>Select Drivers and tools
>Select your os
>go to BIOS
>compare the latest version of the BIOS available for download on the website to the one you have installed.

>If out of date go to utilities and download AI Suite III and install.

When installed open the program and move your mouse to update and click on ASUS update in the pop-up menu
then click on update BIOS from file, find the file you downloaded(may have to extract it) select it and start the updating

I am sorry i should have mentioned this at the beginning, but after looking for my problem in other forums, i had already been advised to upgrade the BIOS and so i have the BIOS up-to-date. Anything else you might suggest? :)

Is there another computer around that you can try the card in to make sure its the mother board? if it is the mother board have you tried it in a different PCIe slot?

I am surrounded by laptops! Mine happens to be the only PC :p
And i don't think my GFX card would fit on the PCI lane of laptop's mobo? :(

I have given the PC to an expert friend of mine.
he is looking in to the issue. will update you guys once
it is fixed :)

Solved! Thanks a ton guys.

Turned out to b faulty graphic card. Replaced and now everything is working fine.
That and also, my old monitor did not recognize the DVI output from GFX card..
Replaced the monitor as well.

Thanks a ton :)
