[HELP] USB cannot be accessed and needs to be formatted

Hi! Good day! I need help with my USB Storage device. When I plug it into my computer a windows pops up saying "You need to format the disk drive before you can use it." I tried to format it as it says but then a window pops up again saying "Windows was unable to complete the format." I tried clicking "Restore device default" and tried formatting it but the same window pops up then, after closing the format window something pops up saying "Check to see that the disk and drive are connected properly, make sure that the disk is not read-only, and try again. For more information, search Help for read-only files and how to change them."

What should I do? Help is greatly appreciated. =(

Is USB or files on it write protected? and have you tried to format the usb as administrator in cmd? Find cmd -> run as administrator -> Type Format YOURUSBLETTERHERE: press enter, type the name of your USB (example: JimsUSB) If it asks you are you sure to format the USB press Y then enter and type a new name for it....

@MarthiniL I tried it just now but CMD said " The media being formatted has been removed or has become invalid. Format aborted." Files on my USB device aren't write protected if I remembered correctly since I only use it to store documents such as Words, Excels and images. Any more ideas you could give will be appreciated. :(
