2nd OS on 2nd SSD

Hey guyss, I am running windows 7 on SSD ≠1 and I want to install windows 8.1 on SSD ≠2 but when installation is halfway I get an error saying my pc has to be repaired. My mobo is MSI Z87 MPOWER MAX
what should I do and what settings do I need to change in bios ?

Hi, An option:
Disconnect the Win 7 SSD (leave only#2 connected), install 8.1, then reconnect #1. At restart, press F11 and select from the boot menu the SSD.
For dual boot, look for a tutorial: http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2425418,00.asp or similar.

Struggling with a new problem now; cannot choose the SSD partition when i'm asked to choose a partition ( diskcontroller etc) :/

Try using Disk management for formating the SSD.

I made a partition which I can choose but now it says that the partition cannot be used because there is not enough space -.- ( partition is 40GB, installing 8.1 PRO 64bit) So my SSD is to small for this OS ?

Sry couldnt get a picture .. I ordered a new SSD, should arrive tomorrow. Gonna pop the ssd in and hope it'll work

Fixed ! Had to repair both windows 7 & 8.1 and now it runs like a charm ! The Samsung Magician software is also very nice tbh
