Hi I have an old pc laying around which I want to turn into a LAMP box for Development but also want to use it as a media center.

Box is an i3 with 4gb memory and I have about 5TB of storage.

Is it possible to do this?
For media center I was thinking mediabrowser3. Any other thoughts? And for Os centos?

Centos or Ubuntu server. You can add desktops after if you wish or start with desktop versions and add lamp after. If you want to learn the command line fine but if want a gui environment then install webmin.

Can you run mediabrowser3 in Linux? If not, it would seem overly complicated to dual boot with Windows and Linux when you can easily run a mediacenter package in Linux.

I have had great luck with Linux Mint and Ubuntu. I don't know about CentOS, but both Ubuntu and Mint allow easy install of XBMC through their software managers.

There is a Linux setup but just wondering if anyone has tried and got it working in centos. If not then I guess I'll go with plex.
