KHX1600C9D3B1/4G compatibility with mobo GA-H55M-D2H?

Hello netizens.

I am trying to upgrade my ram to Kingston HyperX KHX1600C9D3B1/4G (2x4GB) but to no luck. Memory reading is a OK but it stock at "STARTING WINDOWS". I also enter the timings manually, I up the DRAM Voltage as well as the QPI VTT Voltage and I even down clock to 1333 but still its not going through. Is this ram compatible with my board? Any ram I can substitute maxing to 8gb (2x4GB)? Please advise.

Most any stock 2x4GB set should be fine the stick you mention takes 1.7-1.9 voltage wise and isn't all that compatible with todays rigs that look for 1.5 or less DRAM wise. Would look for a 2x4GB 1.5 1600/9 set likt the GSkill Snipers with your mobo

thanks man. you're an eye opener. does corsair xms or corsair vengeance will work too? i need a low profile ram that could fit underneath my big cpu cooler.

Yes, if looking at 1600 look for a 1.5 set, also if the cooler is the Hyper 212 EVO, no need to worry about DRAM height, the fan(s) on the EVO are adjustable heightwise

well i am looking now at corsair xms profile and it says spd voltage 1.5, tested voltage 1.65. as for the cooler, i forgot the model name but it's from thermaltake with 2 fans on each side. i'm looking forward to upgrade my i5 650 to either i5 750 or i5 760 and water cooling in a few months.
