How to solve Screen-Tearing caused by the DVI-VGA cable?

I looked up on the internet in the last two days, and I found out that the horizontal lines on my screen are caused by an effect named ''Screen-Tearing'' and the actual problem is the DVI-VGA cable which transfers a bad analog signal.

My GPU is a GTX 660 2GB OC and my monitor is an LCD 1280x1024 having only a VGA port.

Is there any way to solve the problem besides buying another monitor?

cables have nothing to do with screen tearing...
mine is VGA too and its only 2$...
no screen tearing with vsync on
maybe you have an outdated gpu driver or windows
