Windows 7 RAM usage.

The RAM on my new home PC can end up going to like 80-90% and it lags my PC, I have 4GB of ram but I don't know how to fix this problem because it seems its svchost.exe that is taking up most of it.

do you have any cleaning programs such as,tuneup utilities or ccleaner or game booster if you dont download one of them game booster frees ram by one click boost ccleaner cleans bad registry's and bad files and also if you're running alot of programs then close them with task manager.

Win 7 manages memory quite well, caching most unused memory, but releasing it if a program calls for it. If you are noticing a lot of hard drive activity, you could very well be running short. I am assuming since this is a new PC, it is running Win 7 64 bit. If so, the problem is easy to fix. Add another 4 gig of memory.

I have defragged my drive, and I've tried using game booster but it doesn't make much of a difference. I will run CCleaner and see if that might help at all.

But it's not so easy to get ram when you got no money.

its not the ram i have 4gb ram and only have 35% physical memory and i have tons of stuff off programs games installed

I can honestly tell you that if you have "tons of stuff off programs games installed" that you can certainly benefit from more memory. 4 gig is the bare minimum for any newer PC doing basic tasks. If you multitask, run games, anything at all that would be above what a basic home desktop machine normally does, you WILL benefit from more memory. One can tell you to make sure background programs are not running, but you know what? That is what a normal modern PC does, runs lots of stuff in the background. So, you can either shut all this stuff down, lose a lot of basic functionality of those programs and services, or just spend a very few bucks and buy more memory.
