Thinking about upgrading GeForce 8800 GT.
PCI x16 processor Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 on Asus IPIBL-LB MB.
General use/ video's, not a gamer.
Ideas welcome

Thanks StarBG for your quick response.
PSU says 460 W.
Nvidia used approx 105W max.by PCI slot. This card up to 150W! And needs 6 pins, means at least 2 free 4pin connectors? As far as I can see costs are around € 100,- It also seems a very recent product.
Will performance be disappointing because op the standard PCI slot, versus ver. 2.0 or even 3.0?
Are there moderate choices, better than the 8800 GT, but less demanding on the system?

If your PSU is missing 6 pin PCI-E connector/s then don't go with HD 7770/7790 and I assume it not a decent PSU a local made or no name PSU or OEM.

Go with HD 7750 which will use max 75W on load, a decent card for your purposes, cost you less, and I think your PSU can handle the card well.

If your MB has a PCI-E x16 slot then no matter what the version is it, the performance will not hinder. All PCI-E slots are backward and forward compatible.
