after about 6 hours, my computer goes from 7.9 ~ 11.6Gig ram used and all that is running is... nothing. just did a complete check and i have no viruses..
help me..
There is some new malware that effects the svchost.exe or one of the dlls it runs, and it basically hogs up all of your RAM until it forces your PC to shut down, it may also play some random ads in the background as well, check for that.
" just did a complete check and i have no viruses.."
whitecat :
Superfech has cached a lot of files , maybe !
superfech?
MC_K7 :
Not neccessarily a virus, could be a legit program or service indexing something.
When you go to Task Manager, under Processes, did you click on Show Processes for All Users?
i'm the only user

you are not alone . when i am using my laptop , which has only 4GB , Superfetch (Windows caching app) sometimes is caching so many files that the laptop is running out of free memory and becomes slow , until this mechanism changes the situation
Run Resource Monitor (included in Windows ) , and you ll see .what is going on.

You're not listening, Malware bro, viruses are kinda rare nowadays. Use this program and your problem should be fixed. Run Full scan. http://www.filehippo.com/download_malwarebytes_anti_malware/

Your reply tells me you don't really understand how Windows works. When you go to Processes, it only shows the ones opened by you, but there are many hidden ones that are started by the system. When you click "Show Processes for All Users" it also shows the one started under other credentials such as System, Kernel, Services, etc... If you click on that you will see that there are a lot more processes running even if you're the "only user" as you said. Sighh...
