which cpu should i get?

im gonna upgrade from an anthlon II x4 640 to maybe an amd fx-6300, if i do get the amd fx-6300 will i be able to run big games like bf4 and cod ghost, granted i dont actually plan on playing those but i assume that if i am able to play those games i can play basically play any game

The FX 4350 is the same price if not more expensive than the FX 6300. Not a good value. Just get the FX 6300. You can overclock later if you want.

i heard older games may require less cores, does this apple to gta 4 and skyrim? games i actually plan on playing, and also saints row IV, which is what i plan to get later

then should i just stick to 4 cores for right now? cause like i said im not gonna get bf4 or cod ghost buuuuuuuuuuuuut i do want arkham origins, far cry 3 and such
