I bought this Z87 back in December, so it's fairly new. It stated beeping 6 times, but then after that would boot. Now it doesn't boot. It just turns on, beeps 6 times, then shuts off, beeps 6 times, shuts off and repeats that. I looked at the manual and all it says is some bull**** about UEFI BIOS and fat1lity's life story, which I couldn't give a **** about. Nothing about what the beeps mean.

I tried pulling the graphics card out, trying different RAM modules, unplugging the SATA connections. Nothing I do will get this beeping to stop. I noticed people talking about a "Dr. Debug" something, but I don't see anything on the motherboard's PCB that says anything about debug. There is a RED LED that comes on next to the BIOS jumper. The only thing printed on it is BIOS_LED_1, which is actually printed twice. There's two LEDs on the board and one to the left of it also says BIOS_LED_1. If I pull the jumper off, it doesn't come on at all. If I put it in CMOS reset, the fans come on and nothing happens. If I put it in to normal mode, it beeps.

Is this something I should call their tech support about? Or, can I fix this on my own.

So, after looking around the motherboard, I found another jumper labeled 1-2 BIOS A 2-3 BIOS B, which I think ASRock was smart enough to put two BIOS chips on the board. I switched it over to BIOS B and it's booting fine now.

Here's the location of the jumper on the motherboard circled in red.

I'm going to call ASRock about this on Monday since they're closed on the weekend, I presume it's a faulty BIOS chip.
