Hello, Tom's Hardware users. I'm in a bit of a quandary. About a month ago, I turned off my computer to help with the power bill. Now, funny thing, it won't turn back on again. I press power, and the fans turn on, and the disc drives click, but... Nothing from the hard drive. Anyone want to lend a brain to help figure it out?

You need to take the left hand panel off (as you look at the front) and disconnect items one at a time to see if it will load to the post page. This is what I would try first.
Disconecting the power each time, obviously , and starting with your suspect hard drive. The motherboard will not power the system if it detects a shorted out component anywhere, or something that may further damage the machine.

So, I've gone and unplugged the HDD, the RAM, my disc drives, my WiFi card, my GFX card... So far, zilch. I've tried different configurations, even. That narrows it down to the board then, right? :(

Edit: I'll take that as a yes. So, maybe a new mobo and CPU purchase are in order. Sucks, I was hoping for a bit less pricey solution... I guess I'll have to start perusing Newegg again to find something. Thanks, folks.
