Hey, so i though about buying 2400mhz corsair 16gb ram but then i asked around on another forum and they told it was overkill and my computer would set it to 1333ghz standard values anyways due to it using CL9 and not correct numbers like 9-9-9-9-24 just a example and they said i have to overclock the ram to be 2400 then i though i wont spend extra money if it isn't already set to that value so instead i took a look at some kingston ram but they was alittle more promising but still it felt like overkill and very stupid to buy 2133mhz or 2400mhz ram if the ram isn't even going to run that.

So now i found this ram Corsair DDR3 16GB 1600Mhz Low Profile, wich ithink fit better aswell 30£ cheaper no big price difference but still i felt like using this ram prehaps please let me know if this ram will be used full and not on 1333mhz the mobo MSI Z87-GD65 Gaming Socket-1150 it says in technical information the following,

1600 Mhz, 1333Mhz, 1066Mhz, 2800Mhz (O.C)

This is also something im curious about the 1600 Mhz is not marked with O.C wich stands for overclock does that mean the mobo will auto put my 16 GB 1600 Mhz ram on 1600 Mhz?

Thanks for reading please give advice.

IT will ONLY run at 1600mhz unless he manually overclocks it and changes all the timings. It is pointless to waste that money for nothing. Just get normal 1600mhz RAM. There is only like 1-3fps performance difference in games between 1333 and 2400 anyway. Speeds don't really matter.

Actually, the difference is so miniscule that it makes no real difference.

I went from 1066 RAM to 1866 and for less than 1 fps difference in all my benchmarks.

Timings are WAY more important. For example, CL9 1333 RAM will perform better than CL11 1600 RAM.
