Hi. I wanted to see if i can replace an intel g33/g31 express chipset family with a different video card. I read on an intel forum that the card is not removable. here is the reply to whoever made the topic:
We would like to inform you that since the chipset is embedded into the motherboard it cannot be physically removed or replaced as you are looking for.
And i looked at another topic, here on this site and here is the reply to whoever made that:
If you motherboard has a PCI-E slot, and G31/33 should, then it is compatible with pretty much all current video cards. What cards you can/should consider depends on the rest of your system including processor, power supply and native resolution. We would need to know that stuff before making a proper recommendation.
So does that mean it is removable? Also, i downloaded techpowerup's GPU-Z and it says that i have a PCI Slot when the video card im getting (Nvidia Geforce GT 520) is PCI-E.. IS PCI compatible with PCI-E?
Here are my computer stats:
Processor: Pentium(R) Dual-Core CPU E5400 @ 2.70GHz (2 CPUs), ~2.7GHz
OS: Windows 7 Home Premium
RAM: 6 GB
System type: 64-bit Operating system
Desktop
Dell Inspiron 545
And it was made in 2007.
Thanks!
