Okay guys, I know this sounds crazy, and I'm new to pc components knowledge and stuff. But is it technically possible to wrap up your laptop, take out the processor, ram, power supply and hard drive and put the components into a mid-tower case, set in a new motherboard and a new graphics card, turn on the pc and be able to use it as a completely working desktop tower gaming pc?

Keep in mind that the motherboard and the graphics card will be bought as desktop components separate from the laptop components.

Since my budget is low, and I want a really good gaming experience, this seems to be the only way.

Graphics card I will buy:
Radeon R9 270X 4GB GDDR5

Motherboard I will buy:
ASUS M5A99FX PRO R2.0, Socket-AM3+

"make the socket fit" is sticking point #1. A desktop motherboard does not know what to do with a laptop CPU, and vice versa.
