I just purchased an Asus ux301la and upgraded to 8.1 for better dpi scaling support. I set the scaling to 200%. However, when I put the computer to sleep and wake it up again the scaling gets reset to 100%. This doesn't happen consistently. I'd say it is the case 1 out of every 2 times I wake the computer. When it does happen and I go to the scaling settings, I can see that the setting has changed and the "apply" button is visible, showing that the setting has been changed but not applied. I can redo my setting and sign out as instructed to fix the problem.
Is there some 'on wake' event that could be causing this? I have checked Intel's Iris graphics control center for any conflicting settings but there doesn't seem to be any scaling options other than a checkbox item for "maintain display scaling" (which is checked. I can't uncheck it). I updated all Intel Iris software/drivers without any result. I'm unsure of where else to look to continue troubleshooting the issue. Any help would be appreciated.
Specs for the notebook can be found here: https://www.asus.com/Notebooks_Ultrabooks/ASUS_ZENBOOK_UX301LA/#specifications
My model has the i7-4558u with Iris5100
