My Computer Wont Start Unless I Press MemOK

So like I said in the title i have to press memok to start my computer up properly, and if i dont it wont output anything to the screen and wont detect my mouse, keyboard, ect. i have built my own computer a couple months back and i had this problem as soon as i built it, but i changed my 2 4GB cards to the other 2 slots on my motherboard and it seemed to work. now it is having the same problem and i also recently found out that it is only showing i have 4GB of ram unless i press memok. Thanks for helping me out if you know whats wrong because i cant pinpoint the problem.

  1. This is strange. My friend had a similar problem kind of a while back where he had to flicker the power supply switch really fast to get the system to turn on or stay on, but the MemOK button would boot it up when the motherboard was sat on an antistatic surface outside of the case. It might be an issue with the case, as that is what it was with my friend, and all it took to solve was to get a different case, but your problem sounds a little different than that, so it might not be the same. It could be a defective motherboard or video card, video cards especially I have found have a high risk of being defective out of the box.

i really dont think the video card is the problem. its the memory or the motherboard. seems to work as it should as long as it is in the blue dual channel and i press memok to start it. if i start it with the power button it dosnt do anything but turn on the fans it seems like.
  3. What mobo/CPU and DRAM (model #s please)

Yeah, that sounds like exactly what happened when I had a busted video card. Try it with another video card or just integrated graphics if you have it, GPU problems are more common and have a greater effect than you may think, trust me.

Try raising the CPU/NB voltage + 0.075, may be a weak MC (memory controller)
