Help! do I need a soundcard and good headsets/speakers to make good music?

Hello everybody, I'm building a new Pc and one of the main things I'll be doing is making my own Music, it's my dream! But to do that will i need a soundboard? I heard that to hear the difference I'll need really expensive headphones and speakers, is this true? I can't even get them I'm poor I'll be lucky to get a £40 headset and speaker system do I need those? Thanks for any replys.

Okay, I can't tell you the being a dj and making your music is not expensive, I really don't want to lie to you, but listening to the best sounds requires a sound card and analog headphones, now, you can mistake analog headphones for USB headphones and make our soundcard basically useless, but if you're going to work solemnly on your pc, I would recommend you to buy usb headsets, because you don't need a sound card. Now the best sound experience is just too much so I bought a pc from 2500-2700 bucks and didn't buy a soundcard because I bought the kraken 7.1 USB headset, but with usb headsets you really can't work with ur phones, so just buy a usb headset if u want a mic and work on ur motherboard audio for now.
