Hey all. This is my setup.

The two SSDs are new, and I wanted to set them up with RAID 0 (to essentially have a single 500GB drive.) My motherboard has a guide (warning: large PDF file) for setting up RAID, but it doesn't seem to be working out. I'm following Section 1.3.1 / Way 2.

I swapped my drive mode over to "RAID" from "IDE" (what I was previously using for my 1TB drive -- had issues with AHCI with it for some reason), then I booted into the EFI shell, ran "drvcfg".

Looking at the guide, they get an output like this:

Configurable Components
    Drv[54] Ctrl[DE] Lang[en]

My output looked like this:

Configurable Components

The next step in the manual is "When the following screen appears, enter "dh [Drv number]" and click [Enter]." On their screen, after the output of "Drv[54] Ctrl[DE] Lang[en]" they type the following:

Shell> dh 4E

I have no clue where they got "4E" from. And my "drvcfg" isn't returning the information it should be. Could anyone lend me a hand? I would really appreciate it.

The description of Way 2 is to "Use this alternative to speed up Windows 8 boot time".
It's probably best to go to ASRock's Support Forum and ask for help if you want to set up a RAID array this way. http://forums.ocworkbench.com/forumdisplay.php?f=31

If you want to set up your RAID array the normal way then reboot your system and press <Ctrl-F> during POST in order to enter RAID BIOS.
Follow the instructions starting on page 11 of your RAID guide.
