Hi,
I'm transferring all my data from my Samsung USB 3.0 external hard drive to my new MSI laptop and when transferring data it starts at about 70-90 mb/s and lasts for about 5 seconds then drops to absolutely nothing, and then for the next minute of about a 2GB file it's just starting stopping starting stopping until it's gone in about 5 second intervals. It only does it with transfers over 70-80mb because it wouldn't have time to stop if they was any smaller.
Details:
- Hard drive: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Samsung-Slimline-Portable-Hard-Drive/dp/B008PABFX8
- Windows 8.1 (it did it in 8 anyway)
- Tried all ports, same problem.
- 2 Internal Hard drives, 128GB SSD and 1TB 7200rpm HDD and it works fine when transferring to the SSD drive.
