I decided to upgrade to 1.6.4 because all the mod I use were finally released for a newer version than 1.5.2.
I got this:
http://pastebin.com/YhyZTRTk
Beautiful, isnt it?
This does not happen with other versions except 1.6.2. I use 1.6.2 for no mods, and had to manually install 12 files the first time I ran it. 1.6.4 has no mods or Forge yet, as I was planning that for later.
1.7.2 and 1.7.4 are out of the question as my GPU hates them.
Either my internet really sucks and keeps dropping out, or Minecraft times out downloading the files (their partial, about half the proper size) because it dosent like a 175KBPS connection. Is it possible to hack Minecraft to allow for a longer file timeout? Is 50ms ping good enough for a picky program to download a file? Whats really dumb is I can paste the so called missing file urls into a browser and download them manually. Unfortunately, there are a few too many missing files to make manual fixing worthwhile.
Do I have to use my satellite dish WIFI adaptor to "borrow" someone's faster internet? LOL
