Hey guys im building a new gaming computer and im trying to get the price as low as possible. My budget is $700 but im a bit above that heres my rig so far http://amzn.com/w/24I8VU61JGFAW I plan on getting a $150 dollar graphics card
well what would i gain from swapping the motherboard? maybe a new chipset that would support something new but other then that i wouldnt have a reason to but i am strongly considering am3+ again but i dont like the idea of buying something thats already outdated would you happen to know if geekbench a good source for cpu benchmarks? like are they accurate?
No, I usually go with cpubenchmark.net sorry about that, and yeah the 8320 was introduced in october of 2012 its a little outdated, but it's what i run in my system now and i love it! I mean intel makes great cpu's i prefer them to AMD's but if your running a low budget build i would strongly consider AMD. Keep in mind that GPU is more important than Cpu for gaming(for the...
with only a 150$ graphics card, you will likely experience a bootleg. this is strongly dependent on what games you actually play, but you might be best off saving up for a more expensive card
i was originally going to choose amd but am3+ is dead and there isnt many fm2+ boards/processors out yet to choose from plus i wanted to use intel since the only other computer i made was amd but thx

if you go intel, prepare to take a huge hit in gpu, intel has really powerful processors but they are also a lot more expensive..!
i dont plan on using the integrated graphics im most likely getting a 650 ti. the cpu i chose costs $185 and the alternative on the amd side (fm2+) is about $170

an am3+ alternative costs 130... if you ever upgrade your cpu, your probably going to want a new mobo anyway, so the am3+ socket being "dead" is irrelevant..

Also is it worth it to buy a more expensive motherboard because i see some $60 matx boards that seem to be just as good as the $100 board i chose

And i was just saying that because AMD is going to shift their chips away from am3+ when you upgrade in the future your going to want a new mobo..
oh thanks ill look into cpubenchmark.net anyway i think my friend has that processor too haha he got it for bragging rights cause its got 8 cores, maybe ill copy him lol
