Hi, I have 2 HIS IceQ HD 7850's, and I was thinking about re-applying the thermal paste with arctic silver 5. Will this void my warranty? And what kind of temperature change could I see?

Solution
I had an HIS 6950, and removing the stock cooler does void the warranty. So reapplying the thermal paster will void the warranty. There are usually stickers located over the screws saying, if this is remove warranty is void. If there are no existing heat issues, I'd suggest not changing the thermal paste. But if you decide to go through with it, i'd say really only 5-6 degrees.

Are you having temp problems now? If you're having problems with the cards, I would be sending them back to HIS to be repaired if you're worried about warranty.

If this is just an "I want to" kind of thing, I wouldn't recommend it if you actually care about what it would do to the warranty coverage.
