games are lagging on windows 8.1

I have just installed new PC with
Intel i5 4440 (4th generation processor)
8 GB RAM
1 TB Hard Disk

I have installed Windows 8.1 in my PC.

When I installed NFS Carbon and NFS Undercover in my PC i found that the graphics of the game are very poor and also game is lagging.

Can any body plz suggest what wiil be the issue...

I can give you a fix for the lag in game. You can download something called 'Razer Game Booter' It basically gives you more FPS in games. It stops all windows services that are not used and other programs so the game can run as good as it can (more fps).

Here is download link: http://www.razerzone.com/gb-en/gamebooster

All you do is download it and install it. Then when you want to use it before you play games you click 'Game Boost' on the program and it will boost your PC to run games better. When your done with it, just turn it off and then windows is back to normal!

I would say it's most likely your hard drive. If it's 1tb and an HDD it will slow down your games, at least in my experiences. Get a samsung SSD, 128 gb to install your OS and games on. It will dramatically increase your performance. That's the only thing I see bottlenecking your rig. Not sure what GPU you are using...

As you didn't list a graphics card I'm guessing that is because you are using integrated graphics ? If so this will be the reason why you are experiencing 'lag' ingame. I would recommend getting a graphics card but it all depends on how often you use it and what games you play. But if you do have a gpu and it isn't that good and you don't want to upgrade or if you are using integrated graphics you should do what I said above and get 'Razer Game Booster'

Get the program like I said above. That will help your fps in game. Also as said above get a SSD as it will run games fast and boost performance.

thnx buddy....

I m not using any GPU, but the games which was working properly on duel core processor (without any GPU) are not working on i5...i used to play NFS and GAT ,,,and resently i installed NFS carbon and undercover but both are lagging and also has a very pure graphics

Your welcome. I'm not sure how good integrated graphics is but I know It is good enough to play basic game. And installing Razer game booster will give you more fps when playing games!

Yeah ssd and your main problem is that you don't have a gpu, that is a must for games! I can barely play dota on low settings with my integrated graphics. You can even get an older amd card for $100 that will get the job done
