Tried sli with a gtx 660 and 660 ti. Already found out from the community that they are not compatible. Anyways. I tried to boot and my pc died. Removed 2nd gpu. Still no boot. Tested psu by using paper clip to trigger it. Psu powered up. Removed ram primary gpu hdd and blu ray drive. No power. No lights on mobo. Is it possible that the wrong sli fried my mobo? Or am I overlooking something?
Thanks

Make sure the 24 pin power rail is completely inserted as well as the 8 pin CPU power plug. If they weren't the slight noise you heard may have been arcing from the plug to the board.

It is very unlikely (nearly impossible) that the wrong SLI fried your mobo. SLI is for information only (very low voltage) not power.

Something happened and my mobo was fried. I replaced it and I am able to boot to bios. But that is as far as I can get. None of my 3 sata drives are displaying. Not even my disk drive. I can see I most likely need to reinstall windows but the disk drive won't even open.

Try replacing your sata cables, otherwise all your drives are fried too.

Yeah fried the drives. Put in an old disk drive and it works. So I'll head out and buy a new hdd later and try swapping the board so I can at least keep all my old data.
Thanks for the quick responses everyone.
