Hi guys. I was planning to get BenQ 2720Z, but then I heard about G-sync monitors. What exactly is it? I was going for the 2720Z, because I'm a heavy FPS gamer and the refresh rate was 144hz. What advantages does g-sync bring?
Largely depends on your budget. The Asus VG248QE original is more "budget oriented" at $270. The Asus ROG Swift is very dear, asking for $800, but is a clear winner by the stats.
I have this VG248QE. Tearing is present in another form other than ugly and obvious tear lines and still contributes to reducing motion clarify just like motion blur during fast paced games.
If you're into FPS shooters, I'd suggest G-sync because the clean graphcis + no V-sync input lag is a big win.
The BenQ XL2420G is a follow up to XL2420TE, which was critically acclaimed for zero PWM and exceptional colors for a TN panel. The drawback is like other G-sync models - you must wait till Q2 and pay early adopter tax.
it eliminates screen tearing, VSync input lag, and stutter.
It has a G-SYNC module in monitors, allowing G-SYNC to synchronize the monitor to the output of the GPU, instead of the GPU to the monitor, resulting in a tear-free, faster, smoother experience that redefines gaming.
Would you guys say it's worth waiting for Asus PG278Q or BenQ 2720G? the Asus one seems to have the specs already, with 1440p and120Hz... Would eliminating screen tearing+ eliminating VSync input lag+120Hz be better than just regular 144Hz?
If you're willing to spend the dough, I'd stick with what I got. Unless its nothing.
I'm more relying on performance. I was just wondering that whether this new Asus g-sync monitor, although 120Hz refresh rate, would beat 248QE (144Hz) with additional tearing+ VSync input lag elimination. But I guess it'd be impossible to figure out until it's released..
