When I try to align the two notches on the CPU with the CPU socket on my MB Gigabyte Z68X-PUD3 MB, I cannot fit it into the four corners. I was wondering if the two are compatible. Sorry for the newbie question. How fragile are the pins in the CPU socket?
Will Intel i7-4470k work with the socket on Gigabyte Z68X-PUD3 MB?

Haswell chips will NOT work on it, they require LGA1150 sockets, that board has an LGA1155 socket. You need a new motherboard.
