Ok, first of all, I'm not experienced enough with installing hardware on pc and I don't have much help apart from the Internet.

I have:
Motherboard: Asrock Socket AM3 870 Extreme3 R2.0
CPU: AMD Phenom II X4 965 3.4 GHz Quad Core Socket AM3 125W Box Black Edition with stock cooler
Case: Thermaltake V4 Black Edition VM30001W2Z Midi Tower

I want to buy CPU Cooler Coolermaster Hyper TX3 EVO.

So my question is: Is it compatible with my rig? I mean will it install properly (pins/screws fit in motherboard, does my case has enough space?)

Also a lot of people recommend buying 212 evo instead of tx3 evo. What's your opinion on that? Is it compatible with my rig?

Thanks in advance!

Solution
Tx3 will surely be compatible with your rig. 212 evo can take up a ram slot as it is big. But it is worth the money. So if you think you can get a 212 evo instead of tx3 then it's better. I think you should check the dimensions of your case. If 212 evo does not fit in your case then tx3 is the best option. If you wan't you can add one more fan to it.

Thanks for your response, I think I will go for the TX3 evo just to be safe. Easier installation and smaller is a plus for me. Also I'm not planning to OC my cpu. I've seen in videos that comes with thermal paste too. I guess it's good enough and I won't buy extra.

Yes, it does cpu with thermal greece. I am thinking of getting tx3 too. Adding another 92 mm fan to it would be best for cpus like hasswell and fx series.
