Hello

i left the usb3 unconnected for quite a lone time but now i need it for the ex HDD so i need help connecting Fractal design define R3 usb3 front panel connector to Asus Z68 motherboard.

My case is the Fractal Design Define R3(2 usb with 1 usb3) and motherboard Asus P8Z68-V LX (http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/P8Z68V_LX/#overview)

My front panel comes with a USB 3.0 20 pin Female connector but i dont have a USB 3 header in the motherboard(i think), so do you think can i use a [USB 3.0 20 pin male] to [USB 3] to connect the front panel to the back panel's usb 3? such as
(http://www.amazon.co.uk/Blue-Port-Header-Adapter-Cable/...)

or do i have to get a usb 3 pci express card? if i do, does it only fit in those tiny pci slot or any pci slot is ok(the one grahic card use)?

or is there any other adaptor cable i can use?

thanks

Hi Askara

you can use that cable and it will work fine. bear in mind though, that you will have to run it out through the back of your case (most people do this using the rubber grommeted water pipe holes) and it can be unsightly so it may be worth you getting a pci-e card for looks.
