which is the best amd cpu if not overclocking

Solution
Getting an AMD chip, if not overclocking, is kind of pointless. Only way I would recommend getting an AMD chip is if budget strictly made it necessary or the deal on one is super cheap. Hence why one of my rigs has an FX 8320 bumped to FX 8350. Microcenter's black friday special of $100 for one, plus still getting the motherboard discount, made it a deal too good to pass up. The highest CPU I would recommend is an FX 8320. FX 8350 @ $200 just isn't a very good deal.

The FX-8320 has got 8 cores ready for the next generation of games, and has a better performance for the price. Once you understand how to overclock the CPU, just buy a cooler (I suggest the Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO) and you can bring the CPU to 4.0GHz, matching the FX-8350, easily. If you can pay more, however, then get a FX-8350, it's still faster than the 8320.
