i bought battlefield 4 yesterday for the pc and have nothign but trouble with the game...well sorta. The problem is that as soon as im done playing if i do anything else on the pc like browse the web or something my pc freezes and i have to do a hard reset, nothing responds. I know a lot of people are having trouble with the game and a few are having the same issue I am but is ther anything i can do? i have re installed my drivers and nothign seems to work, At this point im wondering if im just going to have to wait for them to release an update but I find it odd that my computer stops responding after the game is closed out and im doing other thigns.

Have you tried checking your windows event log to see if there are any error messages around the time of the freeze? I don't know what your specs are or which OS you are using but if you are using Windows 7 or higher you could try looking at the Reliability Monitor and see what information that provides. The Reliability Monitor may also exist in Vista but I'm not sure but both of these would be a great place to start troubleshooting.

I am running windows 8.1 and the game actually was running in default as windowed mode but this did not help. I tried switching to fullscreen to see if this would resolve my issue but it did not.

I have checked my windwos event log and it says that ther is a Kernel-Power error every time the crash has occured but i am not sure if this is being stored int he event log becuase of me doing a hard reset when the computer actually does crash

Kernel power error is most likely due to the hard reset since Windows doesn't know why it restarted but knows that the power was lost. Do you have all the latest Windows updates and drivers for your system? What would really help is if you were able to view your task manager before the system freezes to see what's running or consuming memory before the freeze. You mentioned that this happens when shutting down BF4 but what about any other games?

What are your specs?

Check out this thread http://answers.ea.com/t5/Battlefield-4/Battlefield-4-randomly-crashes-when-killed/td-p/1654841 and http://answers.ea.com/t5/Battlefield-4/AMD-CATALYST-13-12-Resolves-intermittent-crashes-experienced/m-p/2033551#U2033551

You may want to consider trying an older driver version and test.

mine used to do the same thing mostly due to over clock related but bf4 has many errors which they need to fix. the kernel power is from a hard shutdown/power loss, you need to go to applications and look at bf4. mine never shows anything important and i suspect its a game issue.

it used to always do it after gaming for long periods which is a known issue for this game which they said was a memory leak issue which was said to be fixed in the last update.

I havent had any issues gaming lately though with a stable overclock.
