I am planning on getting a 250 Gb SSD this week and I have a couple questions.

I would like to keep all my games and files that I have installed on my current hard drive but install Windows 7 along with all more programs onto the ssd. If I delete windows off of the hdd will it delete all of the directory's for everything that is currently on it? and if so how do I go about this?

Second question is if I will need to reinstall drivers for everything on the ssd because that is where windows would be. or, would I just keep the old drivers on the hdd. Kind of lost as how to do this so any extra help would also be great!

its faily simple and advisible to install a fresh copy of windows onto your ssd, once you have got that up and running with all the drivers, antivirus etc, i would backup your games onto an external hard drive. If you cant do that i would completely redownload all your games and format your old hard drive, there are a few tutorials on how to launch games from different drive

Should have made this a bit clearer. I know how to install windows as I have done it before. Is it possible to leave it on my hdd well I install it on my ssd? And how do I backup from steam and just restore once I have finished?

There are plenty tutorials on how to install windows, its pretty much clicking next,http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aFJwiILbsdo - ignore his annoying voice. you can install windows on your ssd while you have windows on your other hard drive. To backup steam go to computer C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam then copy the steam apps folder to anothe location that is not on the hard drive you are going to format. If you have having difficulty, look on youtube and do a google search

close, you will need to copy over the folder into your old drive once formatted, then run steam.exe
