Hi Guys,

I need your help with regards to a graphic card change (my girl keeps moaning about my Sapphire R9 270X dual noises...and to be honest the noise is annoying when full load), I already found to whom selling the card and I need to buy a new one, this time Nvidia so I know that they won't be boiling despite my cooler master elite 120 case!

I was thinking of

GTX 760
GTX 770

The first one would be similar to my R9 270X the second one more performing, I know that... but if I get a 770 probably I need a new PSU as 500W won't be enough!

My point is to find a maker that has a quite cooling system, I read here on the website that Asus is the quietest card...

What do you suggest? (So I can get it straight away from Amazon :D)

Thanks!

Info from another post regarding GTX770 .. pay your money and make a choice, but I like the Gigabyte Windforce 3x.

Asus, Evga or MSI are awesome at good products and good cooling. Also very quiet cooling. So those 3 if you ask me.

Here. I couldn't find a MSI 770, but either one of these would be great!

or gtx 760

Hope i helped!

I am still undecided, I am happy with the quality of the R9 270X and a GTX 760 should be the same (actually slightly better)...

Spending money for spending money I'd upgrade with a GTX 770 butl....will 500W be enough? Overloading the PSU would still make noises!

The MSI GT760 Looks good, slightly larger than a standard 2 slots, but it should fit in the Cooler Master Elite 120...as the reason I am changing is the noise level...that is the crucial point to me!

the 270x is a really good card. I don't see the point in upgrading it. With a 770, You'll jump from your 270x to 280x. Maybe you could just get a better cooler?

http://www.amazon.com/ARCTIC-Accelero-Xtreme-III-Cooler/dp/B007YLUCKQ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1390234520&sr=8-1&keywords=arctic+accelero+xtreme+3

This could do. It'll be really quiet and yet very cool. Im just looking if it's compatible with the 270x.

Because of noise level I like the card... the 770 is quite more powerful (not a revolution of course) but the point is noise level, if I have to spend 70 quid to then void the warranty when I sold mine a over £100.00 adding that difference I can get a 760, similar performance but better cooling.

Then you might look at the 780... In any case, you said something about a new PSU?

I don't know where you're from... You said "quid" so you might be from england :D

Anyway, get this if you want a PSU:

http://www.amazon.com/XFX-PRO650W-Edition-Bronze-Certified/dp/B0045L5LGI/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1390236603&sr=8-1&keywords=xfx+650

or here

If you're going for a 770, get the ASUS one, IT'S AWESOME!!!!!!!!

Good luck!

haha from Milan but I have been living in UK for 5 years :)

I am tempted to buy the 770 but the 760 has a really competitive price (slightly) better performance and apparently really quieter than my Sapphire...

The new PSU would be only if I get the 770 as I don't think 500W are enough for that.... (that's another reason why I'd get a 760) I have got a Zalman 500W PSU (and an i5 Haswell as CPU)

That 500W will be plenty, since you have the new gen i5...

So, yeah, you could get a 760.

But as a final thought, just so you won't regret anything...

Have you tried manually adjusting the fan speed in a program like SpeedFan?

Tht way, you can monitor your temps and stuff.
Try it.

Oh, and the 270 is a quite slower card than the 760. The 760 beats the 7950 or is equal so that....

Oh, and I live 400km from Milano, but I've only been there once! :D

Here we go I got the "MSI Nvidia GTX 760 2GB DDR5 TF Fan PCI-E Graphics Card" it looks like to be the quieter 760 out there and I do not need to change the PSU and most important adding only £90 I get this card so not bad considering I am getting stability and a bit more of power!

I will think of a 780ti when the Oculus Rift comes out (well....IF it comes out) :D

Thanks for your help!
