Hi guys wonder if anyone can give me some advice.

I just received a replacement Corsair HX650 power supply as my original was making a strange noise although working fine.

After plugging everything back in I go to turn on PC but there is no sign of life. Not even a green LED on the Ethernet port.

I disconnected everything and just plugged the power into the PSU still nothing, same with just the CPU and MOBO power cables connected.

Am I missing something really simple or shall I send it off for another replacement?

Thanks

Well if the button on it is on and no power then it looks like it is bad.

Check to make sure the 120/240 volt button in the back of the power supply matches your respectable power.
If nothing else, sounds like you got a lemon power supply. No biggie take it back.

If your old power supply was making a weird noise, it was prolly the fan inside it going bad. You can replace the fan if you feel up to it lol

It's possible to get a bad one twice , but it's rare , if you've double checked all the power connections and nothing , then RMA for another one.Sorry to hear this bad news.

Thanks for all the replies.

Memadmax - I don't see any buttons apart from the on off switch on the back.

Think it must be a bad one. Just a hassle having to post it and wait for a replacement but what can you do.

Also I believe the noise was when the fan was turning on or off - a common fault with the model from what I've read. Perhaps I'll ask for a different model this time

That is really disappointing , considering they are quality power supplies.
