Hey guys, looking to upgrade my GPU in my gaming computer and found this "HD 5970 Dual GPU" on craigslist for $250. I'm also looking to mine some cryptocurrencies with it.

However I don't know what PSU to get, the seller says I require at least 650 W, but I'm looking for an 850 W in case I'll need the higher wattage in the future. Can someone reccomend me one that's not breaking the bank too much, hopefully under or around $100?

Also he said I need 1x6 pin connect and 1x(6+2), all the PSU's I've seen only have the 1x(6+2) and no 1x6 -- will this addapter do the job?

I feel like those peripheal connectors won't draw enough power for the GPU...
thanks in advance!

And all you need for the 760 is a 600w PSU, so something like the Corsair TX650 or Seasonic 620w PSU will work.

The 5970 was the first card to max out crysis though, but buying it today is like buying a nickel for $1.

If I knew then what I know now I would never have spent my money on a 5970, it's seriously underpowered. The equivalent card at the time was the GTX 580, which although benchmarks similarly just blows it away with real life experience (I got the 580 as well and love it).
