If I miss any information just let me know and I will supply it.

Alright, here we go.
Just upgraded to Blast! from xfinity. My family runs a lot of wireless devices and we do a lot of video streaming and I do gaming. Hence the desire for 50 mbps download speed.
Network consists of:
Modem: Motorola SURFboard sb6121
Router: Archer c7 ac1750

It's a small network, but it's a small house.
Now the problem I am running into is that I just upgraded to the Blast! package yesterday. As soon as I upgraded, our wifi took a dive. I am still in the process of making tweaks to try to figure out whats up. Now the wifi does work from time to time. And when it is working it is blazing fast. Exactly what I need. The problem is that the speed drops so low that everything just times out. I have upgraded the firmware for the router, so I don't think that is the problem. At least not anymore. I just need input on possible fixes because I am completely spinning out here, no traction at all on this. :/

No refrigerators or concrete walls. And the weird thing is, the connection to the router is strong and stable. It's just the internet speed itself that seems to be failing. And I tried rebooting the modem, but that didn't help.

I intended to tomorrow if I cannot find a fix on my own. They have never been overly reliable when it comes to technical support so I try to avoid them when I can.

Alright, bit of an update.
Called comcast, had them send a refresh signal to the modem. Now the internet isn't timing out anymore through wifi. At least not on my laptop. Signal is still strong and stable, but speeds are still terrible. All of the cables in the network are CAT5 or better. So absolutely no idea what could be going wrong.

Sending a refresh signal to the modem is the quickest way to "resolve" the call. And if it works, then that is great, however have them test the speed from their end and if it is poor, they will send out a tech to fix the problem. The problem is probably in one of those little green boxes in the front yard.

figured out what the problem is. Kind of anyway. The wifi works close to the router, but moving even 15 feet away and it starts to plummet drastically. Thinking I am done with this router and will be choosing a different one. Any suggestions are welcome at this point. I thought I put enough research into this one, but clearly I was way off on how good it was supposed to be.

only the 5ghz band has detachable antennas and they are definitely attached. So unless the manufacturer forgot to solder something down, should be all good in the antenna department.
