Hi,

I have a Dell Optiplex 760 SFF Desktop Computer with
windows 7/ 4GB/ 1 terabyte.
Intel Core 2 Duo CPU E7300 @ 2.66GHz

My computer is acting weird when i try to start up. When i push the power button it does n't start up.
1) Therefore, i have to press the button (beside the fan) at the back of the computer same time pressing the power button.
2) The power button turns yellow instead of green.
3) Have to wait 20 minutes for the pc to heat up.
4) After that, i have to shut down the computer.
5) Do the same thing again with step 1.
5) Now my power button turns green.

This process of turning my computer is not normal. So can anyone help me figure out the problem with my pc?

P.S. would like to stay away from buying anything.

The problem is the PSU is dying (almost dead). To keep using this computer you will (in the very near future) need to:

A)Buy a new PSU (can be expensive because the SFF 760's have a proprietary PSU)

B) Get a new PC (worth looking into buying a refurbished model when comparing the price of a new PSU for that system)

Bad news! Regardless of whether it's the PSU itself or the motherboard you'll be looking a replacements parts which would not be cost effective to replace given that those computers are some where in the region of £150 now.

How do you know its a PSU problem... another person said its power supply. How to check which one is right?

PSU means Power Supply Unit.
