Well this is very frustrating. I have a HP Pavilon g6 running windows 7. I have reinstalled this windows version a dozen times from a usb flash drive but this time i get the message No bootable device -- insert boot disk and press any key. Now, when i go into the BIOS i see the usb flash drive listed under boot options. I see the flash drive also when im chosing where to boot from but everytime i choose the flash i get the same message. I tried the usb flash on my other laptop and it booted without any problems. I dong know what to do. Any help?

clr cmos is clear CMOS or reset your BIOS.

If you have Boot from Other devices Enabled, and there is no prompt from the media(CD/USB/Floppy) then you need to force your "Boot From" prompt that flashes right after your POST(Power On Startup Test). It is usually F12 but can be other keys. You need to do this even after selecting USB Flash drive or other devices in the BIOS.

Have you double checked the USB drive? Is it supposed to be bootable? Correct file system?
