dual gpus one psu?

To have 2 gpu's that recuire atleast 600w each, do you need to have 1200w psu to run both gpus? Because 1200w psu aint cheap. And I am not shure what do you guys say?

which GPU's? no gpu requires 600W by itself, 250W is the max for PCI-E + 2x8pin power sockets. So call that 300W, what they mean by 600W is 300W for the main system and 300W for the PSU, with a huge margin left in there. So 750-900W would cover 2 big GPUs, dependent on what the PSU is.

But you have to be specific, what GPU you want to use?
Write your graphics card in the google search bar and write after it Guru3d.

They will show you the power consumption of your grapphics card.

2x 770 GTX for example is the best to have 750W Gold+ PSU

Each 8-pin PCI Express Supplementary power connector is able to provide 150 Watts from the +12V rails of the PSU.

If a graphics card has two 8-pin PCI-E power connectors then its theoretical maximum power draw can be up to 375 Watts which is well beyond the 250W and 300W figures you mention.

ht4u.net measured 376 Watts, for the graphics card itself, for a single AMD Reference Design Radeon R9 290X overclocked to 1050 MHz GPU core clock and 1500 MHz Memory clock while running FurMark stability testing. The power measurement is taken through the +3.3V and +12V power lines of the PCI-E x16 slot and both of the PCI-E Supplementary Power Connectors thus eliminating the effect of increased power consumption by any of the other components in the system.
