Hey guys I'm new to this forum and thought i should sign up because i have some questions about upgrading my PC.

I want to keep this relatively in budget as I am unemployed and study at college.
Current PC Specs:
AMD FX-4100 Quad-Core Processor 3.60GHz

8GB RAM

GeForce GT 630

I do alot of PC gaming on my computer but I'm always dragging on at not such a stable FPS level; for example I'll be running DayZ at a solid 20-30 FPS which just isn't good enough to be able to play smoothly.

So i ask all you computer fanatics out there!

Help please :)

You need a better GPU, because of the you will need to replace the PSU as well. What is your budget?

Here is what you want to do. VERY good quality PSU and MUCH better GPU. Your CPU is not great but with these upgrades you should be able to play DAYz smoothly at mid-high settings.

An fx-6300 would be very nice. An 8320 would be better but it is not needed. An fx-6300 is a great choice to pair with the r9 270.

You've helped me out alot thankyou!, overall how much of an increase will this do to my FPS and actual performance of my PC? because i am now debating whether to save up a bit more and purchase all the upgrades needed.

Just changing the GPU and PSU will not do anything except change gaming performance. The change will be very drastic as the card you have now isn't for gaming and its junk. The 270 is about 15x as powerful as the 630. Your CPU is not the best but it will do fine. The fx 6300 will be better and you may notice a small improvement in over all PC performance, but not likely. The improvement will be shown in CPU dependent games like DAYz which will run alot smoother.

Yes they will all be compatible, but you will need to flash the BIOS more than likely to to most recent version to support the CPU.
