So i have build my own computer and i have had it for 2 weeks and it has been randomly turning off when ever i play games that require alot. I can play minecraft just fine but when i go to play BF4 it just turns off randomly in the middle. At first i thought it was my GPU overheating but then one day it did not turn off and my GPU got to 100 degrees celsius and didnt turn off. My specs are
CPU: intel i5 4670k
GPU: gefore GTX 660
Motherboad: Asrock z87 pro3
HDD: 1 TB
Power supply is a 600W and its a thermaltake and i dont know the exact one but i looked on a wattage calculater and it says i only need 440W
and i have Windows 7 64 bit Operating system.
Also i looked in the logs for my computer turning off and it gave me event ID 41 if this helps at all and if you could help me out that would be Great thanks.

Event ID 41 is very generic (thank you Microsoft) that basically means your computer shut down for an unknown reason. To try and understand what is happening - did the computer just "lose power" in the middle of a game (computer is completely shut off when this happens), or does it restart? When it shuts down, are flaky images shown on the screen, BSOD or is it going from a state of fully operational to 100% powered down.

When it powers down, can you restart it immediately by pushing the power button on the front of the computer? Does it shut down immediately or in a short time frame after restarting?

If you are losing power and it is completely shut down - most of the time it can be attributed to the power supply. It could be other components, but most often that is the failure point. I am not a big fan of Thermaltake power supplies - I stay with Antec, Seasonic or Corsair on all my builds - they tend to perform the best, and have fewer problems.

There are two general causes for this, an overheat situation, or a power supply that is not powering the system properly.

The motherboard will shutoff if it detects the cpu overheating.

As the cpu and GPU heat up (all electronics actually) it takes slightly more power to run the compnent. If your supply is weak then it is possible it shutsdown instead of allowing itself to overload.

First monitor your CPU and GPU temps.

If that is not the culprit than a new power supply is in order. Don't buy a TT again they are mostly low end supplies. Stick with XFX, Antec, Corsair (not the CX versions) and Seasonic.

It is just turning off completely then it restarts by its self and my gpu gets up to 60-70 degrees Celsius and the cpu is getting to 40-50 degrees celsius

i know that it is bad and i figured out that the fan on my gpu wasnt turning up when it got hot so i have to manually turn it up all the way and now it gets to 70-80C
