Recently, my laptop died completely. I have another laptop now and I want to take my old hard drive and put it in my new laptop to get my old files. However, I don't want to keep the old hard drive in the new laptop. The laptop doesn't have a second slot so I'd have to replce the old with the new. What I want to know is if I replace the old hard drive with the new hard drive to get back my old files, can I simply switch back to the new hard drive with no implications? I know it might be a bit conusing but if anyone could help it'd be greatly appretiated!

Get the hard drive out of the old laptop and get a USB drive kit. Connect the old drive to the USB kit then plug it into the new laptop and copy off your files. It is just about that easy.
