Some AMD 970 chipset motherboards may need a BIOS update prior to using Vishera CPUs

Go to Asus website and in the Support / Download section go to the specific motherboard model. Look at all the BIOS upgrades and hope there's a list of fixes and enhancements with all previous version included, then you'll know from what version your CPU is supported. Who knows maybe your CPU is supported by the original BIOS. Unfortunately, not all manufacturer list all this information for their BIOS upgrades. I guess the best thing to do would be to contact Asus and ask them.

Oh Ok, So should i stick with the first one? and did you say that it should already come with the compatible bios version?

Yes stick with the first one, it would be a very slow moving reseller if you do not get supporting BIOS for your CPU.

I know some people suggest to go with a mobo that has a 990 chipset instead because apparently it supports Vishera CPUs out of the box. I don't know much about these new AMD chipset so I didn't verify if this was true or not, I'm just saying.

All chip sets were out before the Vishera was introduced even before Bulldozer so the issue was over all the AMD AM3+ line.

Sorry for the mislead, as I said I read that somewhere on another forum and didn't verify the info. Thanks for clarifying.
