Hello! I purchased this graphics card to play new games such as BF4. It runs BF4 on Ultra with 50 fps (I believe my CPU bottlenecks it at 40-50fps), but on Minecraft I get very unstable fps and lag. It may be my CPU or Drivers but I am unceratian.

GPU: XFX DD R9 270x 2gb Boost Edition 1050mhz
CPU: AMD FX-4130 Quad-Core Processor @3.80GHz
PSU: Thermaltake TR2 600w

Minecraft is very CPU and Memory dependent. It can stress GPUs as well when the poly count goes up, but I believe it is your CPU in this case.

Yes I have 8gb of RAM. I forgot to mention, previously on Minecraft with my Powercolor HD 7770 and a 430W psu I could get 100-200 fps.

@AshyCFC I believe the same thing. I think it may be either Drivers or my Powersupply. The card itself might be bottlenecked by the CPU though.

Well in my experience. I had no issue maxing minecraft with a playable FPS with 8GB RAM, FX-4100 and an HD 7870(your card/processor are slight upgrades on these) It could be the PSU limiting but then this would occur in other games as well. Have you got the latest drivers? If yes try older ones, if not try newer ones.

All drivers are up to date. I'll try to test out older versions. As for now I have to go, but I'll be back soon!

Still running Minecraft poorly. I believe it's just the Drivers have not been optimized for Minecraft as it is a very new graphics card.

That card also requires a bigger PSU, I believe 500w minimum but you might be OK. No luck with old drivers?

Can't find old drivers. Although I updated to windows 8.1 and noticed a slight performance boost.
