600$ desktop for friend

Solution
on your build the ssd is to small you want at lest 120g drive. I would add it latter when he has the funds. up the main drive to 1 tb for few dollars more. the power supply is cheap and under sized for a gaming rig. put in a 750w unit that have wattage to spare when your friend puts in an aftermarket gpu.
This will give him MUCH better performance. You lose the SSD, but you won't really see any difference after bootup:

What makes it strange lol? The Only games that are gonna be played on it are Minecraft and WoW
The rest is just movies and music and stuff

Well with the APU, you'll get medium settings or so, the 7850 will give you 70+ FPS on Ultra, everything maxed.

Smorizio, a 550w is more than enough to add a GPU, a fully overclocked i7 4770k and 780 Ti only draw about 350-400 watts of power, 750 would be way overkill unless SLI/CrossFire is planned.

And why not add a GPU that is exponentially better than the APU now when you can do it for the same price? I just can't see the logic in suggesting/recommending a much less powerful setup overall for the same price - that's something that Dell and HP do lol

Thank you for your very good answer.
What kind of gpu would you get with this set up?

CallMePuff, don't buy an APU if you plan on buying a GPU, it's a waste of money.

call me right now i would hold off see how those new apu from amd are. right now there not much tested info yet. also in a few weeks nvidia dropping there 750 ti gpu if they do you may see a price shake up. if i was building a cheap gaming rig right now i use amd x750 cpu and a fast gpu like a 7850. if he ging to spend 180.00 on the apu if he close to micro center the 4670k are 199.00 and the 4570 non k are 160.00.
then i hold off and see how the 750ti are priced or if the cause the 650 ti boost cards to drop in price.
