E3-1230v3 Cooler question

Do i have to buy a cpu cooler for this?

(yeah i know its a dumb guestion.)
And since i cant overclock it would the cheapest opinion suffice?
And what would be the best motherboard for E3-1230v3(with sli)

for sli you need a Z87 board. since you won't overclock you can probably get away with any normal tower cpu. it will run quieter compared to the stock instead of allowing for a higher clock speed so all is good.

Asrock Z87 extreme4 is a decent board for your needs. For a cooler, I would say a coolermaster, hyper tx3 should be sufficient.

I mean crossfire, do i need z87 board for cf??

To get proper CF support, yes. Lesser boards usually come up short on PCI-E lanes, leaving the second slot with only an x4 pci-e 2.0 speed. If only interested in CF, there are less expensive motherboards with z87.

And if i didnt crossfire what would you recommend then for R9 290 and E3-1230V3. I'm planning to overclock the R9 290. What would be the best option for single R9 290 card and the cpu. Keep in mind the GPU oc if that has anything to do with mobos
