So this has been happening for a little over 2 weeks now.

Randomly, whether I'm on the internet, a computer game, on the desktop, or whatever, My mouse will suddenly freeze for about 3-5 seconds followed by that hardware unplugged sound (*Da-Dum*) and then go back to working perfectly.

Its always at random times. Anywhere from 5 minutes to 15 minutes or sometimes even twice in a minute! Ive also almost gone 2 hours without it happening, so yeah.

I have windows 7 and im using a Logitech Optical Gaming mouse G400. But i doubt its the mouses fault.

Anyone know how i can fix this annoyance? Makes playing League of Legends (or any other game) impossible!

It sounds like the mouse to me. It is for some reason, re-enumerating with the USB bus. This could be due to a break in the cable or it could be a component in the mouse, resetting. You may want to also check your +5V rail and make sure it is above +4.65V.

If it does this in another USB port, it is most certainly the mouse or the mouse cable. If your +5V is falling out of tolerance, you could be in more trouble.

A slight tug and rotation of my mouse wire confirms your suspicions, "Da-Duh! Da-Duh!". A pity, this thing still appears to be brand new too :( Looks like its on to wireless hear on. Thank you Skit75! you saved me a lot of time with your quick response!
